a gallagher tale ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Love & Appreciation
So here is what happened. I bought Terri Irwin's book. I opened it up to start reading it on the way home from Nashville (1.5 hr drive) and Shane insisted that I read it out loud. He further insisted that I not read ahead of him. So the other night we were lying in bed and I was reading it to him. Zane fell asleep. I finished a chapter, looked over, and Shane wasn't looking at me. Suspicious, I asked, "Are you still awake?" No reply. Frown. Considering. I don't know when he fell asleep, he could have missed that entire chapter. In which case I will have to go back and re-read it to him the next day. If that is the case.. it wouldn't really hurt for me to read a little further to myself.. since I have to re-read a section anyway... So, long story short, if you can't tell where this goes, at 1am I am flipping the last page or two, tears streaming down my face in an effort to beat out Victoria Falls, the pillow is soaking wet, and Shane wakes up, turns around and looks at me. He studies me in silence for a moment, and then asks, "So how did that whole Dingo fence thing go?" I couldn't help but laugh and shake my head at him. He asked, "How long ago was that?" I told him it was a long time ago and finished up the book. It was a very very good book. Very very sad. It was the best book ever. Really. I loved it. Love love loved it. And now I get to read it all over again so Shane can hear it all. Don't you love a book that leaves you ultra-appreciative of everything you have? 10:00 p.m. - Thursday, Nov. 08, 2007 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today is Sunday November 18th - Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 |
