Some Old Favorites
This is one of my favorite photos. It was taken in Jan '04 (before we were married!) in Florida. My mom took the picture with one of them disposable cameras in our house before we bought it. Kiera is jumping on me, Cassey is walking behind us, and Shane has his hand cradling my head. Aww!
Another one of my favorites. Saying goodbye. Don't know when this was taken, but it must have been spring '04.
Blurry though it is.. Still one of my all-time favorite pictures. Remembering that delivery makes me cringe and never want to go through it again. I am so thankful to have Zane, my little boy to carry on his daddy's name, so I don't ever have to go through that again. (Of course I love Zane *anyway* and am super glad I have him and would definitely hands down go through ten times worse -- even knowingly -- just so I could have him) The notes on the photo say it was taken July 27th at 1:53 am. Probably within moments of Zane being handed to me... He was born at 1:06 am and it took them until 1:53 to get through with me. Sigh. I don't remember it all very well, but my mom has told me over and over that it took forever, she estimated 40 minutes. She wasn't far off. Having complications and not having any pain meds is not a good combination. Thank goodness for our brains which will kindly block out excruciating pain in our memories. In any case, I have always loved this photo, which my mom took. It makes me think Shane must love me very much, to be so overcome...
Today I am being sentimental. At least I know my heart beats.
