a gallagher tale

Yeah My Grandkids are Teens

I've always wondered about women lying about their age. Why do they always say they're YOUNGER than they really are? This just strikes me as bizarre. Think about it. If you're 40, and you tell someone you're 26, they are going to think to themselves, "Wow, she looks old for her age." If you are 40, and you tell someone you are 65, they are going to say, "Oh my God! You look so good!" I mean, come on, ladies, which would you rather hear? Seriously now.

My computer is still in Ohio. I have over 200 photos on my camera's card and two discs of video to be transferred over. However, Vista sucks really badly and won't read my memory card so I won't have any pictures until I get my computer back. Hopefully this will be mid-week, next week.

Yesterday evening, Shane & I took Zane to his first movie, in a theatre. Shrek the Third, of course. He was so cute I was wishing I could use the flash on my camera. He just sat in his own chair in between Shane & I, with his popcorn in his lap and his drink in the little holder beside him. Munching on popcorn and watching the movie. For about ten minutes. Then, since there was only one other couple in the whole place, we let Zane run around in the front and we sat in the front row watching him. We left probably about half way through, and it seemed like a pretty funny movie. We'll end up buying it when it comes out. :o) But it was a fun experience. We knew going in that he wouldn't have the attention span, and I wasn't too disappointed because I wasn't expecting him to last even that long. And it was super cute. He's just a-growin'.

So, today, we went to this Mexican place for lunch, and Zane grabbed up a gob of sour cream and lobbed it across the table and it landed in my hair. I think people would have paid money to see the deadpan I turned on Shane for *that* one. That kid has an arm on him, and he ain't too skeered to use it. Shane tried his best not to burst out laughing at the sour cream dripping down my face and onto my shirt, but it wasn't overly successful. Needless to say, Zane ended up missing out on lunch, and so did I. He started those "t-two's" a little early. He can be a holy terror with his throwing and hitting. But, at the same time, he will turn around and do something so adorable and so sweet you momentarily forget what a handful he is. But only momentarily.

This weekend is going to be a good weekend for me. I can feel it in my bones. I'll give you the skinny later.
